Student Guardian Visa (Subclass 590)

The Student Guardian visa (subclass 590) allows a carer to remain in Australia with a student/s who is under 18 years of age and holds a student visa while they complete their studies in Australia. This is a temporary visa and it allows applicants to remain in Australia for the duration of the child’s study. To be eligible, you must:

• Be the student’s parent, custodian or relative who is 21 years older
• Have enough funds to support both you and the students stay
• Be able to provide accommodation and support to the child
