Skilled Regional (Provisional) Visa (Subclass 489) – Invited Pathway

The Skilled Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 489) is a temporary visa which allows you to remain in Australia for 4 years from the date your visa is granted. It allows skilled workers and their families to live, work and study in regional areas of Australia.

To apply, applicants must:

• Have a successful skills assessment
• Score at least 65 points on the points test
• Be nominated to apply by a state or territory government

This visa can lead to the permanent Skilled Regional visa (subclass 887).
